Stats in Frisco – Starting Pitching

The Frisco RoughRiders are now in the second month of the season. The first month had it ups and downs, it roster changes, and its fun and games. If you have not made it out to Dr. Pepper Ballpark, you should go. There are not many more beautiful and fun minor league parks, especially at the AA level.

Let’s take a look at how individual players have done through the first month or so.

Starting Pitching:

Connor Sadzeck – After a bad first game for Frisco, Sadzeck has been nothing short of brilliant. He almost had a no hitter, and after not retiring a batter in his first outing, he now is 2-1 with a 3.81 ERA.

Collin Wiles – Wiles leads the pack with a 3-0 Record and a 2.63 ERA through 6 starts. He has 33 strikeouts to only 4 walks, by far the best on the staff so far. He is progressing wonderfully, and he may not last all season at the AA level if he continues to develop at the pace he is.

Yohander Mendez – Mendez is 1-2 with a 3.72 ERA in six starts. He has struck out 32 while walking 16. He is a highly touted prospect that a lot of Rangers fans have heard of.

Reed Garrett – Garett is 1-4 with an 8.42 ERA, not exactly the start to the season he wanted. Garrett has been done in by home runs, giving up 4 in six starts. He has also allowed 24 earned runs in those four starts. He has also had two bad relief appearences.

Tomorrow we will look at the bullpen, and then we will round it out with some offensive and defensive stats.

The Week that Was

The Frisco RoughRiders have completed a week of the season plus, and they are currently sitting at 4-5. They have had some bad blowouts and also some good blowouts. I thought we would take a look at who has excelled so far im the youmg 2017 MiLB season.
